About Spector

Also known as: SpectorSoft.Spector

Key Logger. Runs silently, captures screenshots. Contains some code used in the Ghost Keylogger.

Anti-Keylogger provides every computer with strong protection against most types of keylogging programs (software keyloggers), both known and unknown.

Removal Instructions

Automatic Removal:

Spector can be detected and removed Automatically by SpyEraser, also Spyware Doctor.

Manual Removal:

Will not show up in Add/Remove programs. Spector can be uninstalled, or removed entirely from your computer from its File menu, with the option "Uninstall Spector" from the Spector menu. In stealth mode, there is no evident uninstall.

Follow these steps to remove Spector from your machine. Begin by backing up your registry and your system, and/or setting a Restore Point, to prevent trouble if you make a mistake.

1. Kill these running processes with Task Manager:
   sp40setup.exe
   spadmin.exe
   spector_eval.exe
   spsetup.exe
   systemroot+\system\iefeatures.exe
   systemroot+\system32\winnetcl.exe
   webebot.exe
   wswinntfp.exe
    
2. Unregister these DLLs with Regsvr32, then reboot:
   abfrnex.dll
   msurlbot.dll
   systemroot+\system32\netknl.dll
   systemroot+\system32\netknlhm.dll
   tvdhlom.dll
    
3. Remove these registry items (if present) with RegEdit:
   HKEY_CURRENT_USER\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\explorer
   \menuorder\start menu2\programs\spector
   HKEY_CURRENT_USER\software\microsoft\windows\shellnoroam\muicache
   \c:\windows\system32\winnetcl.exe
   HKEY_USERS\s-1-5-21-329068152-1677128483-854245398-500\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\explorer\menuorder\start menu2\programs\spector
   HKEY_USERS\s-1-5-21-329068152-1677128483-854245398-500\software\microsoft\windows\shellnoroam\muicache\c:\windows\system32\winnetcl.exe
    
4. Remove these files (if present) with Windows Explorer:
